Mr. jorge ruiz head of school & secondary principal

Mr. Jorge Ruiz, joined ISS in July 2020, as the new Head of School and Secondary Principal. He has been in the field of education for 20 years. Mr. Ruiz has been a teacher in the Primary, Secondary, and University levels; as well as an administrator for Primary and Secondary. Mr. Ruiz is an educational consultant, specialized in Project-Based Learning, Professional Learning Communities, and Shared Leadership. He received the National Merit Award for Contributions to Education of the Dominican Republic in 2018. Mr. Ruiz has also hosted and served on Cognia Engagement Reviews in several countries of Latin America.
Mr. Ruiz's educational philosophy focuses on forging strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders while maintaining academic rigor and excellence. Mr. Ruiz joined ISS with his wife, Leticia, and his three children Jorge Eduardo, Vera, and Valeria.

MS. CARLA MARCELINO EARLY CHILDHOOD & primary principal

Mrs. Carla Marcelino G. joined ISS in July 2020, as our new Early Childhood and Primary Principal. She has 15 years of experience in the education field and held an administrative position in Cap Cana Heritage School in Punta Cana for 9 years. Mrs. Marcelino is an Early Childhood Educator that holds a Master's in School Administration and a Master's in Language Pathologies, both acquired in Spain, Madrid.
Mrs. Marcelino is passionate about making positive changes in students' and teachers' lives and continuing to support and guide ISS towards academic excellence. Mrs. Marcelino moved to the North Coast with her husband, Wellington, and her three sons Isaac, Nicolás and Matías.
