Teachers must have a minimum of BA/Bed and a valid teaching certification in specific areas from their home country i.e. US, Canada, UK etc.

Preference will be given to teachers with qualifications/ability to teach in more than one subject area (math/science, history/SS/geog, English/Guidance etc.), toadministrators who have a Masters degree or higher and 3 years of international administrative experience, and to bilingual Spanish/ English candidates.

  1. A one to two page introductory cover letter explaining why you are particularly suited to the position you are applying for;
  2. Curriculum Vitae / Resume ;
  3. Copies of university transcripts, degrees awarded, and professional certifications;
  4. Name, e-mail address and telephone contact information for the professional governing body that maintains your certification (Ontario College of Teachers, Teacher Development and Certification Branch Alberta Learning, etc.); Telephone and e-mail contact information at current work location
  5. Proof that you are certified to teach (Teaching Certificate etc)
  6. Full-length photo Copy of Passport
  7. Written references (3 – professional, from your immediate supervisors), with contact e-mail and telephone numbers
  8. Police report that is current (less than 2 years old) and valid for current location
  9. Telephone and e-mail contact information of someone who will always know how to reach you
  10. Please provide a description of any major medical problems you have dealt with in the last three years;
  11. Please answer yes or no to the following list of medical questions. Provide an explanation for any item answered as “yes”.

    20. Tuberculosis, pleurisy, pneumonia or any other disease of the lung?
    21. Typhoid or paratyphoid?

    23. Have you ever left work for health reasons?
    24. Do you enjoy good health?
    25. Have you ever left employment due to ill health?

Candidates will be interviewed by telephone.

Deadline:
Current ISS teachers commit to returning in early January of each year, and successful applicants will be notified by the end of January 2008. Positions are for the 2008-2009 school year. Administrative positions begin July 1st or as negotiated.
