This week we recaped on using a numberline, finding one more and one less, and also using a numberline to help us order numbers. The children are becoming experts at numberline maths and will be moving towards problem solving next week.
We continued looking at and using the 'ai' diagraph and the children are becomming more confident using the sound in their spelling. They made books with pictures and 'ai' words to take home so they can continue to practise. The children read the book 'I will not ever never eat a tomato' and enjoyed the way the food was described in order to make it more appealing. We made lists of foods we don't like, and created a class book/menu with the food being described more appealingly. The children came up with some amazing alternatives including Nathan's 'Green sushi from Sushiland' (lettuce), and Michelle's 'Golden sunflakes from Yellowland' (bananas). We really had fun getting creative!

To those who couldn't make it, I am posting the presentation for you all so that you don't miss out on the information.
