Next week is book week! We’ll kick off the week Monday with a schoolwide DEAR (Drop Everything and Read!) and a reading session with the 10th grade. On Tuesday, students are free to wear a shirt that has writing on it, however should wear their normal uniform bottoms. There will also be optional bookmark-making with the PSG at recess! On Wednesday we’ll be decorating our classroom door with a favorite class book - stay tuned for pictures! On Thursday, Ms. Lantz will be reading to our class. Friday is “dress as your favorite character.” If students choose not to dress up, then they are asked to come in their regular uniform. Any parents or family members that would like to come read with us next week are more than welcome! Send me an email and let me know a good time! email@example.com
Next year the elementary school will be changing from the California State Science Standards to the Next Generation Science Standards. Any parents wanting more information about these standards are invited to a meeting with Tracey Lantz at 3:15 on Tuesday in the Library.
Middle School Meeting
On Tuesday, the 5th graders were invited over to the middle school for a tour with Ms. Prendergast. They were able to see their future classrooms and meet their future teachers (except for English - she’s still in Colorado!). They learned a lot about middle school routines and expectations, and were able to ask questions. Ask your 5th grader to fill you in on what we learned!
We’re one week away, and the projects are looking pretty snazzy! We hope you’ll join us next Friday morning, May 19th, at 8:30 to check out the projects. The 5th graders have been working hard and are VERY excited about their games!
Don’t forget! Portfolio Day is Tuesday, May 30th. Your fifth grader will be sharing their learning highlights from 5th grade with you. Please make note of your time slot, and let me know ASAP if you have a conflict!
