what's up in grade two
Hello 2nd Grade Families,
I hope everyone had a fun, relaxing break to recharge for quarter 2. Here is a quick preview of some of the things we will be learning and doing this quarter:
I don't know about you, but when I look at the list above I am both excited and amazed...excited that we have so many great things to learn and just amazed that the kids are actually going to do all this!
Thanks for all that you do at home to give them the support they need to grow mentally, socially, and physically. Especially after spending time with you during conferences reflecting on these kids, their uniquenesses, and their learning I am overwhelmed by a sincere sense of privilege at being part of this journey of growth along with you and your children.

I am delighted to introduce myself as your child’s teacher this year. I have been teaching for the past six years, three years in the US, two in Vietnam, and last year right here at ISS. I studied Linguistics at Stony Brook University in New York where I realized that the life and beauty of language is in people, not a research lab, and so I have focused my professional passion on teaching ever since.
I am married to the PE teacher and we have a sweet and active son who will be two in November. Outside of school, I love getting outdoors whether it be to go for a hike, play a sport, enjoy a barbecue, or relax and build sand castles with my son at the beach.
