Kindergarten students have focused on some of the most frequently used letters and sounds of the alphabet; s, a, t, i, p, n.
By the end of quarter 1, students should be able to name them, identify and write the uppercase and lower case forms, give examples of words that begin or end with these sounds, and be able to blend these sounds to read and write basic CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words.

Below are some videos that reinforce the songs and sounds of these letters. For parents there is a teacher instructed video of the actions so you can support your child during home reading and writing. You can also make flashcards of the letters to support your child at home and see how many words they can make by blending these sounds.
