Then she told us about the Owl chart and earning class SUPERs for the class. We all voted and are working towards a Pajama Party with movie and popcorn!
Pete the Cat
On Day one we listened to the story Pete the Cat: Rocking in his School Shoes. We then did a scavenger hunt around the school looking for Pete and learning about all the new places we will be having classes this year. We painted our own Pete the Cats Mrs. Brown said we had "Puuurfect first day!" Check out the story, its a very catchy song!
Can you guess who has new school shoes?
WRITING our name
First week Pics!
One of the first things we need to know how to do in Kindergarten is to write our name. Mrs. Brown reminded us that the first letter of our name should be in Uppercase letter (or Capital letter) because we are all important people. The rest of the letters should be in lowercase. We explored writing our name with play-dough, stamps, with magazine cut outs, magnets, chalk on the sidewalk, and on white boards!
The first week of school was very active.
Having a new Spanish class, going to the music room, getting a BIG area to play in at lunch time and snack time and seeing all our old friends again. We cannot wait to begin learning in the second week!
To quote Samuel "...I didn't know kindergarten would be this fun!"
