PreK4 enjoyed a special day on Valentine's Day. During language we read a story about how to be a good friend and students talked about and illustrated : what makes a good friend? We counted hearts in math and had a fun party with delicious snacks to end the day! Here is a great shot of our whole group!
This month in PreK4 we have been learning what it means to be a 'bucket filler'. What is a bucket filler, you might ask? The idea comes from the book, Have You Filled A Bucket Today. The premise of the book, is that everyone in the world carries an invisible bucket. When we say or do kind things to ourselves and others, we are filling others buckets, and our own buckets! To the contrary, when we speak unkind words or do something that hurts ourselves or others, we are dipping from our buckets. PreK4 has been brainstorming different ways to fill others buckets. They have come up with some great ideas, and never fail to amaze me with their kind and caring hearts!! Have a listen to the story!
