ISS Curriculum
The
ISS Curriculum is continually updated and is dynamic in that
it envolves as the school and students develop and grow. The
curriculum has been developed to provide clear academic standards
and incorporates instructional and assessment strategies based
upon researched proven best practice.
During the 2007-2008 school year, ISS has worked to complete the following aspects of the curriculum:
- Revised ISS Program of Study
- ISS Course Syllabus
- ISS Scope and Sequence Maps
- ISS Standards and Learning Objectives
During the 2008-2009 school year, ISS will revise and edit all of the work completed in 2007-2008 as well as develop the following curriculum tools:
- ISS Unit Plans of Study
- ISS Portfolio Assessments
ISS
Program of Study (Primary)
The ISS Program of Study is divided into two major sections,
the ISS Primary Program of Study and the ISS Secondary Program
of Study which is further subdivided into the Middle and High
School Programs
The ISS Primary Program of Study focuses on the development
of basic skills in the 3 Rs (Reading, Writing and Arithmetic)
as well as the use of 21st century learning skills to perform
research and to manage information.

No students
that test more than one grade level below the ISS mathematics
standard will be admitted to the grade
for which they are applying.
New students that test two grade levels below
the ISS reading, writing and/or speaking standards must enroll
in ESL instead of Spanish or SSL. |
