To be an ISS Hurricane is more than being a student, it is being part of a larger community, family. We strongly believe that allowing students a voice and a choice is key in their growth as socially conscious individuals.

We, the students of the International School of Sosua, in order to promote knowledge and involvement, encourage scholarship and leadership, support school activities and policies, and create communication and cooperation between the students and staff do ordain and establish this constitution of the Student Council of International School of Sosúa.

NHS - The Fidelis Chapter

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921. 
The Fidelis Chapter has vowed to support Mustard Seed Community and the local reforestation attempts.

Model United Nations & Debate

2023-2024
ISSOSUA became a member of the National Speech & Debate Association, granting our students an international ranking. They particpated in debates at the St. George Debate Tournament, Instituto Iberia Debate Tournament, and at WAMUNC in Washington, DC. Each event provided a victory for our debaters!
2021-2023
NHSMUN- The ISS Hurricanes traveled to New York in to attend the National High School MUN held at the UN Headquarters. 
2020-2021
DRIMUN - The Model United Nations team represented ISS at the Dominican Republic International Model UN in December 2020. Shai Toledano (12th) won Best Delegate in the Space Giants committee & Jonah Tanielian (12th) received an Honorable Mention in the DISEC committee.
YMUN- The Model United Nations team represented ISS at the Yale Model UN in January 2021. This virtual model, hosted by the prestigious Yale University, had over 2,500 participants from around the globes! Shai Toledano (12th) won Outstanding Delegate Award in the CPD committee representing Kuwait.
